A whole new look
Well my Spikefiles site has begun to take on a whole new look. Hopefully I'll like it for longer this time. I think I will as I put a lot of thought into what I wanted it to look like. I did a lot of surfing to other sites, and not just buffy ones, and I bookmarked the ones that had layouts that I adored. I then went back decided exactly what It was that I loved and then tried to incorporate that into my design. the three biggest were - the Judgement Awards, Restless Slayer and Dusk Til Dawn. It probably looks most like dusk til dawn, but elements from each went into my finished design.
If I Get bored with the header image, it can be easily changed. I was thinking of going with a red layout, but apart from it being a little too cliche'd for my liking, it wouldve looked too much like a rip off of dusk til dawn.
Man that is one well built, planned and thought out site. Tons of content. Hopefully in a year or two mine will look like that too. I'll try and stick to this layout and follow the mantra of 'A Page a Day' - and this time page means page with some content!!! (I'll at least add 3 pages a week I think!! lol)
Anyways My other resolution is to write more, and read more. I have to do something to stop the grey matter from turniong to mush as it has been lately ... not as spry as it once was unfortunately.

Fanlistings and More...
I've been a very busy little bee of late.
I have created a Fanlisting for the Vampires of Angel. SImply called VOA. It resides @ my SPikefiles DOmain The exact adress is

I'm pretty happy with myself, Although I didn't write the scripts myself, I did configure and fiddle with them to get them to my liking. It is my first real delve into the world of php and My SQL. The scripts came from
www.CodeGrrl.com I also got a whole bunch of advice from that sites helpful message boards.
I would also like to take this opportunity to give my wonderful new hosting company a plug

Not only are they amazing for the simple fact that I only pay $5 a month for hosting, and that includes a MySql database, Php, and a hundred other amazing features, But their customer service is out of this world.
Silly old me first time user of php came up against a few brick walls - silly errors, configuration problems, and other errors that I caused (like typos etc.) I simply emailed customer support and had my queries answered within 5 minutes each and every time. Even when it was an error I had made customer service took a look at the code and helped me fix it. Its absolutely amazing. I'd expect this kind of customer service if i was paying around $100 a month, But for the customer service alone icdSofts hosting is amazing value for money.
Also they will register you a new domain name when you join for just $5 more. - I don't get anything if you sign up - I just wanted to share as they are amazing. (the only downfall is you have to pay a year at a time $60us!!!)
Anyway back to me and my world. I've decided I'm going to attempt to revive my flailing Being-Violet.com domain. Next week when I'm flush with cash I'm going to transfer it over to icdsoft and get it going again. I want it to become my creative site, for my brushes, fonts that kind of bizzo. It will also become home to my Ultra Violet blog and the VIOLET fanlisting for the song Violet by HOLE>
Have to run, hubby is sick with migrane and needs to go to hospital
